OPEN SPACE, Parallel Vienna

My work “The Atelier” was exhibited in this exhibition

September 24-29, 2019

PARALLEL VIENNA is a curated art fair presents young and emerging as well as established artistic practices and brings together art initiatives with diverse approaches while keeping a very unique contemporary art exhibition ground in the city of Vienna. The Press Review takes place on the 23rd of September and the exhibition can be viewed between September 24-29, 2019.

Here, the program of Open Space designates the inter-relationship between creative practice and divergent lines of encounters, which presents works by Turan AksoyElena Cologni; Elvedin Klačar and Hasan Özgür Top in an engagement of creating a discursive platform for a variety of reflections of potential critical dialogues.

The focus of Turan Aksoy’s work takes up the notions of neoliberal politics that shape virtually every area of our daily lives, covering the issues of a degraded distance between individual and communal life as well as the ability to objectively view this effect.

Working at the intersection of ‘dialogics’, ‘feministics’ and ecologies, Elena Cologni’s ecofeminist position is grounded in care ethics.

Elvedin Klačar creates spaces which offer possibilities of confrontation in his artistic position. His installations are mostly performative and engage visitors in communication.

Hasan Özgür Top takes the viewer to a specific Turkish flag manufacturing shop in Istanbul; where the audience is introduced to a few workers making flags amidst their employers in his video work The Atelier.
